Real Estate...Taken to New Heights!

Here's whats new in Houston for December

Enjoy the Holidays in Houston With These Fun Things To Do:
There's no shortage of fun things to do this Holiday season in Houston! Enjoy the Mayor's "Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration" with headliner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Eddie Levert of the O’Jays on the upper plaza at City Hall at 6 pm, with tree lighting and fireworks at 7 pm. The event is free and open to the public. The 36th Annual Dickens on the Strand is Dec. 4-5th in Galveston and tickets run $9-12. Catch the "Silver Screen at Discovery Green" every Thursday this month at 6:30 pm for a free movie screening in front of the ice rink. One of my holiday favs "Christmas Vacation" with Chevy Chase is playing on the 16th. Don't forget the outdoor ice rink so bundle up and take your family or a date to Discovery Green. The 24th annual Lights in the Heights event is taking place on Dec. 11th and you want to bring a cooler with goodies if you plan on staying a while. I'll be there with family so you don't want to miss it. Santa arrives at the Galleria on Dec. 6th at 10 am and admission is free. Candlelight tours are being offered at Bayou Bend Thursday and Friday evenings until the 17th. Refreshments, carolers and even Santa delight all at the "Holiday on 19th Street" benefiting the Star of Hope on Dec. 3rd from 6-10 pm. Receive a free gift or discount when you donate blankets and toys for the homeless with participating 19th Street merchants. Enjoy the "Santaland Diaries" playing at the Alley Theatre through Dec. 31st. where Company Actor Todd Waite will reprise his role as “Crumpet the Elf” in the outlandish, and true, chronicles of David Sedaris’ experience as a worker in Macy’s SantaLand display. Enjoy a Buffalo Bayou Christmas Cruise on the new Spirit of the Bayou boat decorated for the holidays. Cruise runs Dec. 4th and 18th from 5-8 pm with 30 min. tours every half-hour. It's not the holidays without a sweet-laden gingerbread house as tempting as it is adorable. Gingerbread House Decorating with the pros at Central Market - they provide the gingerbread frame, lots of icing and mountains of candy and edible decorations and you provide the imagination. Please email me if you need more information on any of these events and see ya there. **HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!**

As a fourth generation Heights and Garden Oaks area resident, this area holds a special place in my heart. My great grandfather settled in the Heights in 1917 and my family has been active in Houston ever since.
