Historic Flooding ~ Texas 2015

Posted by Paula McDonald
I have lived in Texas all of my life.  I have seen historic rainfalls, hurricanes, tornadoes, flash floods and severe thunderstorms.  I would have to say that the storms we endured last night have to top the charts as the worst that I have experienced.  Really, really frightening. To make this particular storm even worse is the fact that we have been receiving extremely heavy amounts of rain for months now.  Yes months not days!  Our already swollen creeks, rivers, bayous and tributaries are out of their banks. This morning we awoke to the news that nearly all of the inner loop of the Houston area is underwater in most every feeder road and areas along the bayous.  The situation is serious and everyone needs to be tuned in to the news to know which school districts and businesses are closed.  If you don't need to be out on the roads, stay put! The central part of Texas has also been receiving record rainfall and the flooding devastation in the hill country is extreme!  Hundreds of homes along the Blanco River are gone!  Entire homes were completely swept off of their slabs. Please pray for all of the people affected by this flooding.  There are several families that are still missing from this weekend in Wimberley.  They were all in a home along the river when the home literally broke apart and went down with the flood waters.   Stay tuned to the local news for road closures and business and school closings.  Stay in if you don't have to get out!  Pray for all and pray for the missing families in Wimberley.        "Have you fully lived today?"
