Giving Yourself Permission to REST!

Giving Yourself Permission to REST! As I was reading the blog roll today and came across Roger Mucci's post on hitting the wall during his knee surgery recovery, it occurred to me that we are so pressed in this life to go, go, go that I believe too often we just don't give ourselves permission to really REST! I just returned from a vacation at the beach and it was glorious.  What made the week so great was the fact that we really, really took time to REST!  My little grandson and I took many much-needed naps in the middle of the day out on the porch just experiencing the lovely sea breezes!  I read, bummed around and slept! Why is it that we allow ourselves to run about on a daily basis feeling guilty for RESTING?  Our society encourages us to go at a high-octane level!  This type of living does have consequences.  Our overall physical, emotional and spiritual health can be negatively impacted when we don't allow ourselves to really REST. I hope that today on this Sunday that you will give yourself permission to really REST.  Go take that nap, read a book or just veg somewhere.  It is OK!  Those chores, bills or other things can wait! ENJOY YOUR DAY AND REST, REST, REST!        "Have you fully lived today?"
