What Your Car Says About Your Image!

What Your Car Says About Your Image! As real estate professionals, our image is everything! What we write here on Active Rain, how we are perceived via our marketing materials and yes, even our vehicles say a lot. Not the type of car mind you but rather what is displayed on the car. Yesterday we were out and about and saw the personalized license plate featured above.  Of course we thought it was hysterical yet it got me thinking about some of the stickers, plates and other messages we see on cars.  If you use your car for business which many of us do, our car "image" is important. Here are some tips for your car image: Evaluate stickers that may be on your vehicle.  Too many?  Could be perceived as offensive? Keep your car as clean as you can.  Unless you show a ton of country property, a dirty vehicle is not a good first impression. Make sure the inside of the vehicle is clean and free of unnecessary debris.  Nothing worse than trying to pile in clients when you have to move about a lot of trash, papers and other items. A tuned up and well running vehicle is also a must.  No one wants to be broken down with their real estate agent somewhere! The smell of your car is also important.  No stinky odors of food, smoke or trash.  Even a bottle of cologne that you might keep in the car could be offensive. If you have a lot of rain, consider using sturdy water-proof mats to protect the carpet in the car.  They are also easier to wipe out after showing in bad weather. Have a well-stocked emergency box in the trunk or in the back.  This could include toilet paper, hand wipes, a small first aid kit, bottles of water, and any other items that could be handy in an emergency situation with your clients. While fun stickers and license plates can be amusing, they may not send the best message to your clients. Your vehicle does reflect who you are. Keep it clean folks!       "Have you fully lived today?" Paula L. McDonald ~ REALTOR® Broker ~ The Woodlands, Texas 936-203-0279 Direct Selling The Woodlands real estate and surrounding areas!
