Deadline to file your Residential Tax Protest!

There has been some confusion regarding what the deadline date is to file a residential tax protest with Harris County Appraisal District in 2010.  An "early" deadline date of April 30, 2010 was announced for residential properties.  However, homeowners have until June 1, 2010 to file a protest with Harris County Appraisal District, or 30 days after the date their appraisal notice was mailed - whichever is later.   There is still plenty of time to file a protest and you can do it yourself on-line!

Homeowners, your 2010 preliminary market value may not have changed from 2009, so you may feel there is no need to file a protest in 2010.  Don't make that mistake! Log-on to IProtestMyValue.com  for a risk free evaluation of your home!  Homeowners, you don’t need a tax agent, but you do need the evidence to back up your claim that your assessed tax value is too high.

I'll be posting some numbers over the next few days/weeks to give everyone an idea of the number of homeowners/properties, by zip code,  that our database has identified as being over assessed on the 2010 preliminary values.

As Homeowners its our money and we have a right to keep it!
