Other states with multiples, Oregon and Montana (elk and sheep country).
The Buckle L Ranch on the North Pease River in Childress Texas boasts 37,224 acres of land. It has accommodated more than 4000 steers and is home to trophy-quality whitetail and mule deer, bobwhite quail, turkeys, doves, ducks, geese, bobcat and aoudad sheep. This land where cowboys and Indians once crossed is less than 8 hours from Houston. This ranch actually tops the list as the most expensive of them all at $890 an acre.
The Canadian River Cattle Co in Adrian, Texas caters to the more sophisticated hunter with a 7,000-square-foot hunting lodge featuring six bedrooms, plus pilot's quarters, hand houses, a manager's house, barns and pens plus over 71,000 acres.
