Texas cities starred on the new list of recession-proof cities
Texas cities shined on the new list of recession-proof cities, claiming six of the 21 spots, according to MetroMonitor (America's most recession-proof cities, by Hibah Yousuf, CNNMoney.com, June 24, 2010). All six cities, Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, McAllen, and San Antonio, resisted the worst of the downturn as a result of their stable labor and housing markets and robust economic activity during the past few years.
