PREPARING FOR TONIGHT'S FREEZING TEMPERATURES

January 27th, 2014

Follow these tips to reduce costly damages to your property!

DISCONNECT OUTDOOR HOSES, DRAIN THEM, & STORE IN A PROTECTED AREA OR GARAGE.

Wrap all exposed faucets & pipes, including hose bibs & other pipes outside the home or in unheated attic spaces, garages, etc.  Wrap with pipe insulation.

Take special precautions with your sprinkler systems too! These need to be protected from a freeze too, along with Tankless Water Heaters, Whole Home Water Filters & Softeners.

Leave cabinet doors OPEN that contain pipes that are located on outside walls of the home.

Protect your Plants and of course, your pets.  Don't leave pets anywhere (not even in a garage) without a heater or some kind of protection. If they're in a dog house, they need a bale of hay or straw to help keep them warm.   They get as cold as you do, so treat them like you would want to be treated.  All living things need "care," especially our pets.  I read over the holidays of a dog owner in Longview Texas who left his dog chained (outside) to a tree, during freezing temperatures.  Of course the dog was dead but what suffering for that poor animal.  Anybody who chains an animal doesn't deserve to own one.  If only that man could get the same treatment!

STAY WARM AND HANG ON FOR "SPRING-TIME," COMING SOON??
