The City of League City is teaming up with the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce to bring residents and visitors a holiday experience on the water. The City of League City is the title sponsor for the 2011 Christmas Boat Lane Parade on Clear Lake. The event brings more than 100,000 people to the shores of Clear Lake to enjoy more than one hundred brightly decorated boats.
2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the 50th anniversary of the City of League City, and this year is the 50th Christmas Boat Lane Parade. “These golden anniversaries provide the perfect occasion for the City and the Clear Lake Area Chamber to partner to bring residents and visitors one of the biggest holiday celebrations in the area, “ said League City Mayor Tim Paulissen. “The City of League City has played an important role in the boat parade for many years, and we are pleased the City’s involvement has increased and we are able to partner with them on this golden anniversary event,” said Shari Sweeney, Vice President of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
The parade will take place on Saturday, December 10 at 6:00 p.m. Boats will make their way from the South Shore Harbour Marina and the Nassau Bay Lagoon to Galveston Bay. An awards breakfast will be held on Sunday, December 11 at the South Shore Harbour Resort and Conference Center in League City.
