I have been in the real estate industry for this side of 20 years. I have seen changes in everything from the way we search to the way we address the public. Clients are different and the internet! Wow, the internet has been the single greatest change. I know the internet has been around for a long time but it still took a long time for the customer to see the power of their own home search. Luxury home shopping in your PJ's, on your lap top, in bed. How nice! You never have to contact anyone to show you anything. It is all there for you. When the public was allowed to see most of what realtors see it was a shock to the system. The waiting room was suddenly empty, the phones quit ringing and appointments were a thing of the past. It was 2007 and the market was also crashing to the ground. So, since the company I was working for was crashing with it... I bought the ERA franchise shortly after the crash. Since then, I have sold, taught, listed, hired and trained new agents, back to selling, etc. I am now at what feels like a standstill. You can't forget how to be a Realtor? The industry is changing again. Everyone talks about the millennial and their affect on the market. How they will read about everything for 18 months then still be shy to make a decision. (I don't agree with that one) First time home buyers and last time home sellers are still my favorite groups to work with. Both need time and attention and really want to learn and put trust in a professional "manager". Yes, that is what we are becoming, managers. Real Estate Agent is something I think will go by the wayside and Real Estate Manager will be the norm. A buyer or a seller has a very busy life these days! Jobs, commitments, family, activities and personal life are all examples of what an average client is going through every day. Yes, you can shop online. Yes, you can check trends. Yes, you can read reviews (please read mine!) But in the end please email or reach out somehow to a professional manager. This is the biggest financial purchase of your life. The process can be simplified greatly by calling the right Real Estate Manager. The blend of the two processes will be great! Give me a call when you are ready!
