For many women, uprooting their children and relocating with little-to-no possessions to a shelter is a difficult decision. Communal living can be challenging particularly during holidays, and the Christmas Season is no exception. Here at BATP, we go the extra mile to ensure Santa reaches our facility and that our BATP families are not overlooked!
Santa's helpers - in the guise of BATP staff members together with community partners - fill the "house" with decorations and the wonderful fragrances and sounds of Christmas. Helpers plan parties including the highly anticipated arrival of St. Nick to hand out presents and stock and prepare the Christmas Store for its special customers. BATP's Christmas Store enables clients to "shop" from their family's "Wish List" using vouchers to claim these treasures.
How can you help? It is only through the assistance of caring people like you that stock the Christmas Store each year, offering the opportunity for families in crisis to build joyful memories that last a lifetime. Please help us make sure these families are not forgotten!
We need your assistance to give our remarkable families something to celebrate. Here are some of the ways: help us fill our Christmas store with presents appropriate for all age groups (infants through adults); volunteer to receive, arrange and help women and children wrap gifts for the tree on Christmas morning, host or underwrite a holiday party; help serve clients at our Christmas Dinner; or sponsor a family that recently transitioned from our shelter.
