• More than 1,500 companies have relocated to Houston in the last five years.

Right now the average home price in Houston is $478,874 (Trulia) and prices here have seen an increase recently of close to 3 percent which can be attributed to warmer weather but one of the biggest reasons why more people are buying homes here is low mortgage interest rates.

The current mortgage interest rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage loan is lower than 4 percent. Many economists expect mortgage interest rates to decrease even more in the coming weeks since Fed Chairwoman Janet Yellen views the economy as “not strong enough yet”.
