The 5 Minute E-Mail Newsletter: Tips for generating business on the go
Time is of the essence when it comes to marketing and building client relationships. That means you need to keep in touch no matter what; even when you don’t have hours to spend creating an e-mail newsletter.

Here are four great content strategies for putting together your e-mail newsletter on the fly:

1. Develop a moneymaking template

A great template is the foundation for any effective e-mail newsletter. Your template is just a standard way of formatting your newsletter. To make it great, you need to ensure it’s easy to read and includes the info that’ll bring you new clients is every time you hit send. Here are a few things that should always be included in your template:

Your complete contact info
Links to your website or blog
Your logo and branding
At least one call to action, like “call now” or “read more”
When it comes to design, there are a lot of e-mail services with design templates built-in. They include Mail Chimp, Constant Contact, and many others. Also, check with your brokerage or local association to find out if there are any free tools are services you can use.

2. Focus on less than three ideas

Just like you, your prospective clients don’t have a ton of time. So, keep your newsletter short and sweet with less than three ideas or areas.

Think about what is most important to your audience and emphasizes that.

For example, if most of your clients are first-time buyers, you should probably leave out information on retirement. And as always, be sure to suggest properties in the area that your clients might be interested in.

3. Give an updates and advice on market stats.

Looking up a city or neighborhood on Trulia Local can give you great content to use in your newsletter. You can copy and paste market stats directly into your newsletter, just be sure to give us credit and link to the local page. In addition, try including your take on market data like commute times, sales trends, and area amenities. Your newsletter should highlight your expertise. Providing commentary is a great way to do it.

4. Include expert advice from across the web

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to write every piece of content for your e-mail newsletter. Check popular news sites and real estate blogs for consumer content you can site or link to in your newsletter. If you’re looking for a place to start, check out real estate expert Michael Corbett’s blog on Trulia and CNN’s real estate section.

Remember, if you’re going to use this content you need to give credit to the authors and links back to their sites.

5. Send helpful handouts.

Check out and add a Client Handout from TruliaPro to every newsletter. These free handouts are written and designed by professionals and help your potential clients see you as a great source for real estate information. Client Handouts cover a variety of tips on topics from how to improve your credit score to tips for speeding up a home’s sale.

These are a few strategies quickly producing  a newsletter that’ll help turn your lead database into new clients. Check out some of the resources we mentioned to help streamline your process and let us know below: What tips do you have for creating e-mail newsletters while you’re on the go?
