With all the due respect I can muster up, I want to say.."a REALTOR®" is not a "REALTOR®" is not a " REALTOR®"
The same as Apples are NOT Oranges
When I was practicing nursing, I grew up, trained and worked in the ICU all my nursing life. I clearly remember the day they asked me "Would you please float to the medical floor..they really need help today." I of course complied...because I thought.."A nurse is a nurse is a nurse, and I know how to take care of sick people." That is the day I vividly learned...Apples are not Oranges.
What am I getting at??????? In Real Estate the saying holds true. I have a heart full of respect for the Agents who work the Commercial end of real estate and I would never try to convince my client that I am a commercial agent. Nor would I market myself to a family that is relocating, and trusting me to know the area when indeed I do not!
When a REALTOR® says they specialize in an area, they better know what they are doing.
Article 11 of the REALTOR® Code of ethics states..
REALTORS® shall not undertake to provide specialized professional services concerning a type of property or service that is outside their field of competence
{You can read the entire Code Of Ethics at TexasRealestate.com}
So I say..fellow REALTORS® don't try to be an Apple when you are REALLY an Orange!!!
Peace
