The calendar tells us it is autumn, but it doesn’t give you a clue about all the activities happening in our area. Take for example, October 27th; on this day you can get rid of household waste cluttering up your garage, stroll around a Harvest Festival after dropping off your old cans of paint, then look to the sky to see new and vintage aircraft in flight. The notes below will explain it all!

Clean Out the Garage
The City of League City is teaming up with Galveston County, the City of Dickinson and several other organizations for a Household Hazardous Waste and E-Waste event on October 27, 2012 from 8 a.m. to noon at Gulf Greyhound Park, located at 1000 FM 2004, in Texas City, (just off I-45). Celebrate the Harvest
The League City Parks & Recreation Department will host the Annual Harvest Festival in League Park. It will take place on Saturday, October 27, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. Look to the Sky
The Confederate Air Force will be hosting the 2012 “Wings Over Houston” Airshow at Ellington Airport, (directions & parking info).  Gates will open at 8 am on Saturday, October 27^th (and Sunday).  There will be vintage plane displays, flying demonstrations, food & vendor booths.  This event has become a tradition in our area and many people are known to show up at work on the following Monday with sunburned faces after spending so much time on the tarmac over the weekend!  For more information about the scheduled activities, check out the event’s website: http://wingsoverhouston.com/woh_schedule.htm.
