As an ardent griller and Weber charcoal devotee, I rarely take notice of any other grilling device. I can’t keep the temperature at the proper degrees on a gas grill and I’m not quite sure that I want to drop a lot of money on the Big Green Egg. But, I may break my 30 year Weber habit after checking out the surprisingly simplistic Texas Custom Grills line of grills, including the Texas Fajita Cooker and the Tailgate Machine. These grills require no charcoal and use a small propane tank that cooks evenly. With minimal cleanup it travels well, whether it be to the beach, camping or tailgating. And speaking of tailgating, would you like to order yours in Houston Texan’s colors? How about University of Texas burnt orange? They can do it.
I spoke with one of the founders, Hunter Jaggard, and he really impressed me with his description of these grills, especially with their versatility and durability. He also informed me that they don’t rust, which is nice if you want to take one to Galveston, where things tend to rust easily in the salt air. Check out the video on their website and I think you’ll be just as impressed as I am with their entire line of products. All of their grills are available direct to order online at www.texascustomgrills.com as well as at Prasek’s Hillje Smokehouse and the other retailers found on their website. Check out their awesome recipes on the website too!
By the way, next time you stop by Buc-ee’s, you may see one live and in person. They like them so much, they have become one of Texas Custom Grills’ several authorized dealers.
