The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been working on updating Galveston County flood plain maps, which have not been changed in over 20 years. Open House Meetings have been scheduled in Galveston and League City to discuss the new flood maps and answer questions.
The following notice is posted on the City of League City’s website:
***UPDATE ON FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAPS FOR GALVESTON COUNTY***
Galveston County and the City of League City will be hosting an Open House meeting to discuss and educate citizens on the new Galveston County flood maps. Staff from FEMA, the State, and local communities will be on hand to answer your questions about flood maps, flood insurance, and your property.
The meeting will be held on February 20, 2013 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center located at 400 W. Walker St. in League City. Please call 281-554-1428 if you have any questions.
