The Woodlands Township is pleased to announce that CB&I, one of the world’s leading engineering and construction companies and a major process technology licensor, has again agreed to be the title sponsor for the CB&I Triathlon, which is produced by The Woodlands Township in 2011.
CB&I has committed a total of $30,000 for the title sponsorship of this event, and $5,000 of the funding has been earmarked for safety devices to support the CB&I TRI – The Woodlands and the Memorial Hermann 10 For Texas. “CB&I has continually demonstrated its leadership in the community through its support of this event. Their strategic alliance affords the Township the opportunity to produce these healthy, safe and enjoyable events,” said Chris Nunes, director of Parks and Recreation for the Township.
The CB&I TRI - The Woodlands Triathlon is set to take place Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Northshore Park. As one of the premier multi-sport events in the region, CB&I TRI – The Woodlands offers high-caliber competition, first-rate race management and a scenic course. The 2011 race is a sanctioned USA Triathlon (USAT) event and will feature a field of 1,000 participants. Last year’s participants ranged from beginners to nationally ranked triathletes. This event has reached capacity and sold out registration every year since 2005.
