With historic drought conditions in Texas and Montgomery County, wildfires in the region, including in Magnolia, Tomball and Katy areas, have created mild smoky conditions in and around The Woodlands Township.

At this time, The Woodlands Township is not experiencing any grass/woods fires. The smell of smoke could be the result of a grass/woods fire in these regional areas. The Woodlands Fire Department asks that all citizens be extremely careful with any type of open flame and report any uncontrolled fires immediately to 911.

Should our area experience any situation that could possibly elevate into conditions that warrant emergency communication to residents, The Woodlands Township will utilize the WoodlandsAlert messaging system and other means of communication to pass along important information, including the front page of The Woodlands Townships website and media alerts.
