The beginning of another school year means that the annual Walk to School program is coming soon! The theme for 2011 is Hike it! Bike it! I like it!
To get ready, check out Walk to School on The Woodlands Township website including:
• Detailed maps to explore route options for walking or biking within your school zone, including where crossing guards are posted.
• Walk and Bike Tips to encourage safe habits.
• Parent survey to facilitate walk groups from neighborhoods feeding each K-4, K-6 and 5-6 campus.
• Public forum information regarding Safe Routes to School, which will be held Thursday, September 22, 2011, at The Woodlands High School.
International Walk to School activities coordinated by The Woodlands Township in partnership with local schools will occur between Tuesday, October 4, 2011, and Friday, October 21, 2011.
