If you are new to Houston, get ready for one of this city's biggest events...the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo! I am on the international committee for the HLSR and it is my duty to spread the word around the world about this most exciting event.
Action kicks off this weekend with the World Championship BBQ Contest and a big parade through downtown Houston on Saturday February 23.
The world’s largest livestock show and rodeo opens Monday, Feb. 25, and runs through Sunday, March 17. Since 1932, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has committed more than $330 million toward scholarships, research, endowments, calf scramble participants, junior show exhibitors, School Art participants, and other educational and youth programs.
AND! If you have a foreign passport, there are special events and activities for YOU, from Feb 25-March 5. There is a VIP lounge for our foreign guests, tours of George Ranch on March 1, a formal gala on Feb 28, and a Ladies Luncheon on March 2. Free food and drinks inside the VIP lounge, but you must bring your passports for admittance. Come around 1pm for the best food!!
