On a walk near our house we found a small patch of bluebonnets.  I was reminded that NOW is bluebonnet season in Texas.  Along many of our highways you will find huge fields of our state flower, that are now in full bloom.  One of the best spots is along highway 290, head west, and stop just past Chappell Hill.  You will see a Shell gas station along the way.  Stop there and get some Blue Bell ice cream.  It is freshly delivered from the Blue Bell factory in Brenham.  I recommend the butter pecan flavor.  It is excellent!
