Houston is not known for having much of public transportation. Well, the city of Houston is working on that! Yesterday, a new section of the light rail opened, connecting UH Downtown with Northline Commons, which is just north of 610N. The city spent 4 years and $756 million building this line. It is one of three new light rail lines set to open in the next 12 months.
In other transportation news, a new section of the Grand Parkway also opened this weekend, connecting I-10 to 290. This should help alleviate some of the crazy traffic on the west side of town by giving people different options to get around.
