Texas real estate statistics- 2013 Q4

On Monday, the Texas Association of Realtors will issue the new Texas Quarterly Housing Report, covering home-sales statistics from fourth quarter 2013, including a news release and accompanying charts. A few highlights: 
  • 60,998 single-family homes were sold in fourth quarter 2013, 6.78% more than fourth quarter 2012.
  • Median sales price was $172,600, which is 8.48% more than 2012-Q4.
  • Average sales price had a similar jump, up 8.88% from 2012-Q4 to $226,216.
  • Texas has seen year-over-year increases in both sales volume and price every quarter for more than two years.
  • Monthly housing inventory figures remained firmly in seller’s market territory, dropping a full month to 3.6 months inventory in 2013-Q4, which is 21.73% less than 2012-Q4.
