Hello to everyone on this January 1, 2010.  As we head into a new year, may I wish you a very blessed year, filled with joy and good health!  I just took a couple weeks to spend with my husband and kids, on a road trip from Houston to Colorado.  We went skiing at Wolf Creek and soaked in the hot springs baths of Pagosa Springs, CO.  We also took a side trip to Durango, CO for the Polar Express train ride on the big steam engine train.  The kids loved sledding in the city park and tubing at Purgatory.  Though it was a little challenging, we even made it to Mesa Verde National Park to see some of the ancient ruins of the Ancestral Pueblo Indians.  On the way home, we spent some time in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, including a scenic drive on Historic Route 66.  Other highlights of our trip: my 4 year old's birthday dinner at the Big Texan in Amarillo, TX (if it's your birthday, you get a free steak!) and skiing as a family at Wolf Creek (after 2 days of ski school, the kids were able to ski down with us on Christmas day).  It was a great trip and we got to see lots of friends on the way there and back (Elaine in Dallas and Jodi in Waco) plus meet new friends along the way (folks from Maui, Arizona, and Oklahoma).  Well, I hope you all had an awesome holiday season.  Let's get out there in 2010 and have a great year!
