This is a great video explaining how AREAA was founded, back in 2003. All Asian Americans have parents or grandparents, or ancestors that left their country and came to America. In my case, my father left Hong Kong and my mother left Taiwan. That makes me Asian American and a good fit for this organization. Although it was founded in Houston, Houston does not have a chapter yet! However, Houston does have a similar organization called AAREA, but it is not affiliated yet with the national organization in this video. Because I live in Houston, I am a member of both! Whew! After attending the AREAA national convention in Las Vegas last week, I finally figured it all out. Thanks, Kenneth Li for the explanation!
