Satin Black is gaining popularity in appliances and kitchen & bath finishes, with manufacturers increasing marketing to place the finish as the new competition to stainless steel.
Need to match wrought-iron details or need a neutral color up against a brightly colored sink? Kohler is offering Matte and Satin Black kitchen faucets. Another plumbing company, Danze, has recently added Satin Black to it's lineup as well.
While the first black stainless steel finish in appliances came last summer from KitchenAid, Samsung, LG and other manufacturers have now added the finish to tier lineups.
Beth Robinson, senior brand experience manager for KitchenAid says, "Major appliances are the anchor pieces of a kitchen, and tier color and design contribute largely to the overall look of the space. As a stylish alternative to traditional finishes, our black stainless steel offers designers and consumers tremendous design flexibility and the chance to experiment with fresh ideas."
