Sugar Land residents living near the old Imperial Sugar Mill were disappointed to learn that Johnson Development has been "in discussions with apartment developers" to build 1000 apartment units along Highway 6 near Voss with another 1000 planned for later in the project. Proceeding with that portion of the General Plan while leaving the Sugar Mill Char House in disrepair. Plans for the Char House include replacing the numerous broken windows with "sheet metal"!!! Serioulsy; these guys got a sweet deal and they expect the citizens to accept this plan. Not likely in Sugar Land. Johnson Development is also planning apartments for the Riverstone area. That would add 3000 units to the Sugar Land area by this one developer!!! Wake up Sugar Land. The local papers print little about this since this is one of their biggest advertisers.
