Burglaries in Montrose, specifically East Montrose are on the rise. East Montrose boundaries are roughly Memorial Drive, I-45 to Spur 527, Montrose Blvd and Westheimer. Just in the last month, there have been 17 burglaries and those are just the ones reported to HPD.  In one instance, the burglar crawled through the dog door to gain entrance to the home on the 300 block of Welch St and it took HPD 40 minutes to respond. Be vigilant, look out for your neighbors, report suspicious activity and perhaps seal up those dog doors.
