Whole Foods Market revised it's plans in Boulevard Place at the corner of Post Oak Boulevard and San Felipe. The popular organic grocery store had plans to build a massive flagship store to rival that of Austin's Whole Foods Market in downtown but the grocery store has now scaled back plans for a smaller store. Although it will be first class, complete with undergound parking and electronic walkways, the market will be in fact smaller which I think is truly short-sited and a big mistake. Have they forgotten about the huge following that Eat Z's enjoyed in that space? There ia a mass concentration of people working an living in the Galleria area especially with the many residential hi-rises within walking distance. Perhaps the bankers refused to lend the money or maybe Whole Foods execs got cold feet. Regardless construction will start summer of 2011. I'm sure everyone will enjoy it, except for many be the crowds.
