To follow up with today's earlier post on crime, there was another burglary today in Royden Oaks at 12pm - broad daylight. Below is an email from ROPO (River Oaks Property Owners).
At approximately noon today, Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in the 3700 block of
Overbrook Lane (Royden Oaks area) 3 black males attempted to burglarize a
residence by smashing out a large rear window on the home. Reports to the
River Oaks Patrol indicate that the resident of the home was inside at the
time of the attempt. It appears that the suspects fled when discovered by
the homeowner. The suspects were seen leaving the area in a white Cadillac
with a paper license plate.
In response to the recent events, the River Oaks Patrol is immediately
scheduling additional manpower to address the situation. This is a directed
response and manpower will focus solely on this situation.
During this time, residents of River Oaks need to remain alert to any
suspicious activity that might fit the pattern. Additionally, alarm systems
should be utilized and residents should make sure that doors are locked at
all times. Please contact the River Oaks Patrol or the Houston Police
Department immediately should any suspicious activity be witnessed.
