Houston home sales are on the rise year-over-year in the past 3 months! This alone may not be worth bragging rights as in 2008 Houston was recouping from Hurricane Ike and facing the international financial crisis. But sales are starting to look comparable to levels before the recession hit. In Nov 2009, single-family homes sales totaled 3,721, a 34.8% increase from Nov 2008. The average sales price also rose 12.3%. Townhomes sales totaled 502 in Nov 2009, a 75.5% increase over Nov 2008. Also impressive is Houston's 6 month inventory compared to the national average of 7 months. Houston is poised for a healthy 2010 housing market.
