Road Construction on River Oaks Boulevard

March 31st, 2010


ROPO announces:

The following is the traffic control for River Oaks Boulevard from March 31st to April 12th.   These dates cover St. John the Divine's Easter Weekend from April 2nd to the 4th and River Oaks Country Club Tennis Tournament April 5th through the 12th.   Please click on the link below for the plan detail of the following:

 

1.   All construction and traffic control is South of San Felipe

 

2.   Starting March 31st construction is between Huntingdon and Avalon:

 

a.   The northbound lanes of River Oaks Blvd. from Avalon to Reba - will be available for parking by St. John's parishioners.  This is shown in yellow with a black bar on each side of the yellow highlighter.  The bars signify parking spaces on either side of the north bound lane.

 

b.   South of San Felipe on River Oaks Boulevard the south bound traffic lanes will be two way starting south of where Huntington intersects with River Oaks Boulevard to Reba

                                 i.    The traffic transition at Huntingdon is shown on the schematic.

                                ii.    The traffic transition at Reba is shown on the traffic control plan.

 

c.   On Friday the 2nd and Saturday the 3rd Rene Garcia offered that his flagmen will try and assist parishioners in their attempts to park in the zone that is barricaded.  

 

3.   Starting Monday April 5th the contractor will continue south bound on River Oaks Boulevard towards Westheimer installing Storm Sewer, Sanitary, water lines etc. 

a.   Sometime after the installing crew gets far enough ahead the paving crew will start reconstructing the street, curbs, sidewalks, and esplanade curbs.

b.   They will not work north of San Felipe until after the tennis tournament.

 

4.   After the April 12th Pace Services will start another installation crew north of San Felipe in the north bound lanes.   The north bound lanes from San Felipe to the Country Club will be shut down just like traffic plan for south of San Felipe.

 

Note: the tree protection has been installed on the esplanades.

River Oaks Boulevard Traffic Control March 31 through 12th 2010

After the contractor finishes the north bound lanes of River Oaks Boulevard they will reverse the traffic control plan to reconstruct the south bound lanes and sidewalks.

There is no interruption of garbage service this Friday.
