HISD is now moving forward with plans to rebuild Horn Elementary School at 4536 Pine. The facilities will be ready for the 2011-2012 school year. After the city was granted a $805 million bond in 2007, Horn has been on the list for a major rebuild.  Horn’s current enrollment exceeds capacity at around 575 students. The new 85,000 square foot, two-story building will accommodate around 750 students. The grounds will also allow for more parking and on-site carpool lines which should appease some of the neighbors.
