While we're on the subject of open houses, please mark your calendars to join the fun at the Friendswood Volunteer Fire Department's 2010 Open House at Station 1 (1000 S. Friendswood Drive), across the street from our office, from 1PM to 5PM. Admission is free, and you'll get to see several demos, slide down a real fire pole, ride the fire truck (until 3PM), and see/do all kinds of cool and interesting things.
