Houstonians' Credit Scores are Middle of the Road

According to an Experian study from January - June 2010, the average credit score for Houstonians is 722. We have 1.82 open credit card accounts on average, and owe $25,919. Our population is reported at 2,257,926, with 8.5% unemployment, and 10,386 foreclosures.
The metropolitan areas with the Top 10 highest average scores ranged from 777 up to 787, with none in Texas. The lowest areas (several in Texas) went from 709 as an average, down to 684.
