Imagine you have just found the home of your dreams... We're walking through it together and you are commenting on everything you love about the place. You tell me you would even pay more for it because it has XYZ. In fact, you tell me how much you'd pay. Everybody's happy and we go write up an offer.
What we didn't know is that the seller was around the corner in her car, listening to every word we said through a baby monitor. Yikes! That is a scary thought, but something to consider. We've heard about nanny cams and sellers who have motion-activated cameras to watch buyers while they're in the house, but who ever stopped to think about that seemingly-harmless baby monitor that broadcasts every sound within a 10-12 foot range?
We all need to be aware that our conversations could be overheard by the sellers while we're inside. I like to discuss the home with my buyers while we are walking out the front door and locking up, or while we're in the back yard. Please keep in mind that what you say while you're in a home may be held against you in negotiations. I hope you have found this tip useful.
Remember, I'm never too busy for your referrals!
