Friendswood Valentines Dance and Upcoming Seniors' Activities

The following Senior Citizen Program events are scheduled for the coming months. For more information on these events, please call the Senior Citizen Program at 281-482-8441. The Senior Program is located at the Friendswood Activity Building, 416 Morningside Dr. in Friendswood.

Valentine's Dance - The Friendswood Senior Citizen Program cordially invites you to join us at our annual Valentine's Dance on Saturday, February 5th, 2011 from 7 - 10 p.m. DJ Peter Hoth will provide the music and we need you to fill the dance floor! You can even take a picture with your favorite valentine. The cost is $6 per person at the door. Light refreshments will be provided. Best dressed wins a prize. Pictures are sponsored by Sally Branson with Raymond James. The dance will take place at the Friendswood Activity Building, located at 416 Morningside Dr. in Friendswood.

Harbour Playhouse and Newman's Castle and Bakery - On Thursday, February 17th, 2011, the Program plans to drive out to the Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson to see Play it Again, Sam, a Woody Allen comedy, loosely spun from the classic film Casablanca. We plan to leave the Activity Building at 7 p.m. and return around 10:30 p.m. The cost is $12 per person and seats are limited. Also on February 22, 2011, we will ride out to Newman's Castle and Bakery in Bellville, TX. We will leave the Activity Building at 9 a.m. and return around 3 p.m. The cost is $15 per person, which includes a tour of the castle and lunch.

Casino Trip - The Friendswood Senior Citizens Program invites you to join us at the L'Auberge du Lac Casino in Lake Charles, LA on Thursday, February 24, 2011. We will leave the Friendswood Activity Building promptly at 8 a.m. and plan to return around 8 p.m. The cost is $25 per person, which includes your choice of either $15 toward lunch or $10 toward your gambling card. The deadline to sign up is Friday, February 18, 2011 and the bus does fill up fast.

Spaghetti Luncheon - It will soon be time once again for the annual Spaghetti Luncheon, hosted by the Friendswood Senior Citizens Program. Every year Greg and Pauletta Jeter with Jeter Memorial Funeral Home sponsor this fundraiser to benefit our program. This year's event will take place Wednesday, March 17, 2011 from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Friendswood Activity Building. Plates are $7 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and children under 12. Call ahead and pick up your order to go. Local favorite Joe DeBonis and the ROMEOS prepare a tasty dish. To order ahead or if you have any questions, please call (281)482-8441.

Austin Day Trip - The Friendswood Senior Citizens Program is planning a trip to Austin, TX Wednesday, March 30th, 2011 and we want you to join us! We will leave the Activity Building at 8 a.m. and plan to return around 8 p.m. The cost is $60 per person, which covers a full itinerary including a tour of the capitol, a trip to the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum and a drive down the famous 6th Street. Sign up begins Tuesday, February 1, 2011 and the deadline is Friday, March 18, 2011. Reserve your seat early, as the bus will fill up fast.
