The City of Friendswood is preparing for the 116th annual Fourth of July Celebration scheduled for Monday, July 4th in Friendswood. The day begins with the Grand Parade down Friendswood Drive and ends with the evening program, including a concert by Radiostar and the Fireworks Extravaganza, which is held at Centennial Park. This celebration is considered one of the longest consecutive running Fourth of July Celebrations in Texas. The theme for the 2011 celebration is "One Nation, United We Stand".
At this time, the City is accepting parade and booth applications to be processed by the Fourth of July Steering Committee. All parade entries are to be decorated according to the theme and/or with the colors red, white and blue. The use of music in all entries is encouraged to help make the parade more enjoyable for participants and spectators alike. Deadline to turn in forms has been extended to June 24, 2011.
