Monday, September 26th at 6:30pm Early Literacy Workshop: Every Child Ready to Read. Early Talkers: Birth to Two-Year-Olds. Free for parents, teachers & caregivers. Wednesday, September 28th at 3pm Portable On Demand Art Program at Friendswood Public Library: Houston artist David McClain will be at the Friendswood Public Library to talk about his work with the P.O.D.A pod entitled Box of Curiosities located on the back lawn of the Friendswood Public Library. All are invited to attend this program and view these unique pieces of artwork.
Thursday, September 29th at 6:30pm Computer Class: Microsoft PowerPoint. Learn how to create a slide show presentation.
Wednesday, October 5th at 7pm Legendary Norden Bombsight: The Norden bombsight was used by the United States Army Air Forces and the United States Navy during World War II to aid the crew of bomber aircraft in dropping bombs accurately. Its operation was a closely guarded secret of World War II. W N Crawford will present his training as a WW II Bombardier/Navigator with pictures detailing the operation of the bombsight.
Thursday, October 6th at 6:30pm Classic Movie Night with Scaramouche starring Stewart Granger, Eleanor Parker, Janet Leigh, and Mel Ferrer. Directed by George Sidney in 1952. This color film is not rated and is 115 minutes long.
Tuesday, October 11th at 7pm Book Club will discuss Room by Emma Donoghue. Book Club meets the 2nd Tuesday each month at 7:00 p.m. The library has several copies of the book. Refreshments are provided.
Wednesday, October 12th at 7pm Meet new author Rosanne Givens-Scott and learn about alternative publishing options: New author Rosanne Givens-Scott will talk about her first novel, Fawn Forest ISD, and will share her experience with alternative publishing methods. Rosanne is a former public school teacher and counselor. She lives in Friendswood, Texas.
