The Texas Residential Construction Commission is being abolished at the end of August, but there will be a one-year wind-down period, which ends 8/31/10. If you purchased a new home or had your home remodeled and you have construction defects or issues with your contractor, your deadline to file a complaint is the end of August. Buyers who purchase new construction up to September 1, 2009 will have some statutory protection under the Sunset Act.
