Texas Is The "Stickiest" State

July 18th, 2009

We're not talking humidity this time. More than 75% of adults born in Texas still live here, according to a study by the Pew Research Center using US census data. We have a lot going for us, and our economy and housing market have been spared much of the hardship we hear about on the national level.

By contrast, Nevada is the nation's most "magnetic" state, pullling 86% of its people from other states. Nevada also has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation.

I wonder if there is any correlation? I see Texans as can-do people overall. We pick ourselves up when we fall, and don't rely on others for a handout.

I'm stuck on Texas.
