As a government entity, Houston purchases more green energy than anyone else in the US. Houston has also reduced its power consumption by about 6%, despite double-digit growth. We have more total acres of park land than any of the other Top 10 US cities, and there are more than 500 hybrid vehicles in use.

Mayor Bill White was named one of the country’s top “eco-mayors” last month by Mother Nature Network for his guidance toward environmental and sustainability practices.

Kudos to Mayor White and to the city for making an effort to 'green' Houston.
