Everyone knows that first impressions count, especially when marketing your home to potential buyers.  Here are a few simple and inexpensive ways to make sure your home has the WOW factor!

A little elbow grease.

Take a weekend and power wash the exterior, including sidewalks, patios and driveways.  You'll be surprised at how much dirt and grime builds up over time.  Make sure pathways and perimeter of your home are clear of debris.  Trim shrubs and tree limbs of lower branches to make sure your house is visible from the street. Don't forget to wash your windows inside and out!

Light the way.

Landscape lighting can make a statement. Buy some solar-powered LED lights that can easily be stuck in the ground, no wiring needed and very reasonably priced.  Also make sure that your porch lights are clean and have fresh bulbs in them.

A little color goes a long way.

Refresh your flower beds and landscaping.  A mix of evergreens, perinneals and seasonal flowers will create that attention grabbing pop of a well manicured yard.  Don't forget to mulch so that the pesky weeds won't ruin your hard work.

Give your front door a makeover.

Refinish your front doors with a fresh coat of stain and polyurethane for that glossy look.  Update the door handles and place a new door mat at the entry.  If your door is outdated, consider replacing it with one that contains leaded glasss, a little extra cost but the effect may be worh it!
