HOME IMPROVEMENT, ENERGY SAVINGS TAX CREDIT – EXPIRES DECEMBER 31, 2010

September 16th, 2010

Tom Plant's Houston Real Estate Blog

Water heating can account for 14%–25% of the energy consumed in your home.

If you have been thinking of making improvements to your existing principal residence, now may be the time to go ahead and complete the project. There is a tax credit available for 30% of the cost up to a maximum of $1,500. That is a CREDIT, not a deduction. Projects that qualify include eligible roofing systems, heating and air conditioning, insulation, thermal windows, and many more. The project must be completed by December 31, 2010 so do not delay if you plan a project.
