Top Ten Rules of Staging a Home

1. If you see something that needs to be repaired, replaced, repainted, or cleaned, do it
2. If you have colored walls or wallpaper, repaint to a neutral color
3. Remove all clutter from floors, closets, and countertops
4. Keep all blinds and drapes open and all lights/fans on for showings
5. Use air fresheners, candles, potpourri, throughout the house to give it a fresh scent
6. Put down a fresh layer of mulch and plant seasonal flowers in flowerbeds
7. Make sure driveways, walkways, patio areas are clear of clutter, debris, and look clean
8. Make sure every room has a focal point
9. Remove dust everywhere
10. Organize the garage
