Tuesday October 5, 2010 is National Night Out for the entire nation. It is time to meet your neighbors and leave the TV controller alone. Many have called this night a " Meet and Greet " opportunity to mingle with your neighbors. All of us get so involved with our daily activities that we all forget to out meet new folks who have moved into our neighborhoods. My family resembles this remark.

The City of Katy's Nigh Out is scheduled for Tuesday Oct. 5 from 5:30 Pm until 8:30 PM and will be held at the Katy City Park located at Avenue D and Gardenia. The Katy Police Department along with local business owners are the sponsors. There will be free food such as pizza, popcorn, and beverages. An inflatable bounce ride and face painting will be available for the kids. A free family movie will be shown on the outdoor movie screen that will be provided by the Alamo Drafthouse. Katy police officers will be making ID cards of kids for their parents.

Harris County Sheriff's Department will be sending officers out into the community to meet citizens and explain issues. Waller county Sheriff's Department will be out in the communities they serve also meeting the citizens and making a positive statement to residents. Fort Bend Sheriff's will be out in their communities doing the same thing.

The weather is great and Tuesday will be an excellent day to get out of the house and meet your neighbors. I hope to meet some of you that evening...
