Fort Bend County will celebrate the grand opening of its new Annex on Monday October 23, 2010. The building is located at 22333 Grand Corner Dr which is southeast of the intersection of FM 1093 and Grand Parkway or Texas 99. If you are traveling north bound on Texas 99 as you pass FM 1093 get to the right and drive on the Texas 99 feeder road and then turn right on Grand Corner Dr. Another way to get there is to go south on Peek and turn right on the Texas 99 feeder road and then turn right on Grand Corner which is before the Texas 99 and FM 1093 intersection. Residents will no longer have to drive to Sugarland to pay taxes, get or renew vehicle tags or find county records.

This building is over 23,000 square feet and will provide offices for Precinct 3's County Commissioner, Constable and Justice of the Peace. It will include a Sheriff's department Annex and satellite office for taxes and the county clerk. The County's Veteran's services plus Health and Human Services will have offices in this complex.

County Commissioner Andy Meyers pushed hard for this new building and it was passed during the facility bond package voters approved in 2006. Commissioner Meyers has said that over 25 % of the county residents live in areas new the new facility and previously there was no county building close to serve them.
