As I said in my previous effort, PLEASE VOTE as it is important for all of us to take part in the election process. This is an an important election on a Federal , State and Local levels and especially in Katy Texas. My main concerns are people voting and the Katy Independent School District (Kary ISD) Bond election. If you live in the Katy ISD jurisdiction VOTE YES for this bond election as it is important for the entire community.

The Katy ISD bond election is asking voters to approve a $459.7 Million issuance that includes $282 Million for new schools and facilities; $119 Million to up-grade existing facilities; $35 Million for technology so the school district can meet the demands of the changing world ; and $22.8 Million for items such as buses. The Katy ISD has had unprecedented growth over the last 15 years and projections show this growth to continue over the next 10 years and the total student body to over 90 thousand which reflects a  50 % growth rate from today's enrollment.  This growth equates to 16 new schools needing to be built with 1,800 students in each school.

If you are a senior citizen living on a fixed income your taxes will not increase. The state of Texas freezes your taxes so loang as you continue to live in your home and you do not make significant improvements.

All residents who live in the Katy ISD boundaries are affected by this measure. We in Katy have been very fortunate that our home values have not had the major fluctuations as seen almost across all of the United States. Instead we have enjoyed an increase in values each year ranging from3 - 6%. One of the major reason is that Katy ISD is an outstanding school district. Passage of this bond issuance is critical to keep our schools at the top. Katy is in high demand when companies transfer their workers to the Houston area and our school district is one of main reasons why many folks want to live her.

Please VOTE for our children by voting for this bond issuance.
