The Seven Lakes Boys Basketball Team ( 25-9, 8-2) this season won its second consecutive District 17-5A championship and beat Alief Taylor of 18-5A in the first round playoff action 78-59 on Tuesday evening. Seven Lakes has only been a 5A team for two seasons and they have won both district championships. Tonight (2/25/2010) Seven Lakes plays Madison Marlins ( 15-11, 8-4) from the 20-5A at 7:30 PM at Cy-Ranch High School in second round of playoff action. The game will follow the Mayde Creek and Bellaire playoff game that starts at 6:00 PM. If you can go to the game I guarantee you will enjoy it. Plus the price is always right!!!
Seven Lakes basketball is a special treat for any basketball fan. The Seven Lakes Crazies ( my step son was an original founder) are all school group that keeps everyone interested in the game. You have to see this group in action to believe it. I previously wrote a blog when Seven Lakes held undefeated Houston Yates to under 100 points and gave Yates when of its toughest games of this season. Yates is still rated one of if not number 1 high school basketball team in the entire nation.
In addition, congratulations is in order for the Sophmore, and Freshmen B Teams for defending their district titles this saeson. The Sophmore Team was a perfect 10-0 in district play and Frehmen B Team was 8-2 in district play.
Seven Lakes is developing an a rich tradition of excellent basketball teams and it appears this will continue in the future..
